Scripts are small programs that let you perform many operations at the operating system. Can be compared, in a sense, the MS DOS batch file that allowed (and still can) to conduct a series of actions in succession (run files and applications, delete files, create folders, etc..).

Scripts are therefore extremely useful, nevertheless can be used to perform actions malicious or otherwise harmful to the personal computer and stored information.
The Visual Basic Script is very much used by viruses such as worms and other malicious applications.

Software Script Sentry intercepts scripts when they attempt to perform any operation.
Script Sentry, in fact, acts as a filter between the Internet and the Windows Scripting Host (the "engine" that allows scripts to be executed) and can be configured in great detail in order to detect any potentially damaging actions.

Script Sentry supports a large number of scripts in addition to the VBS script allows you to analyze scripts JS, HTA and many others. It can also associate .DOC. XLS to ScriptSentry so as to expose any script "harmful" stored in them. The program does not replace, however, the installation of a normal antivirus software.
Script Sentry requires the presence of libraries Visual Basic 6.
