Open Office

If I ever establish a ranking of open source software (and remember that open source programs that are more free, because not only are free, but their code is public and can be examined by all, so it is extremely difficult to hide spyware or etc.) more useful, Open Office is certainly the first three places.

It a real free alternative to MS Office, and also tries to maintain compatibility with formats that (in the sense that importing the formats of Office, and tries to save in those formats, even with alternate success).

Contains all the applications that are considered important in an office suite: a word processor, spreadsheet, database, multimedia presentation program, a diagram editor and a program for math functions. The use of these programs is available to everyone, because their use is not very different from the fee program that acts as a touchstone and the tools available are not unlike those of the reference program (or rather, "the program that many people use as a reference point, MS Office").

Among the most important features there is a Legal: Open Office for free and can be used for personal purposes and for purposes of profit (that can be used free by companies and governments, or offices of any kind).

Its presence is constant on hitfreeware for many years now, and is one of the most essential free programs.
