
AVCHDCoder is largely automated, while other similar programs (think for example to HDConvertX) have great potential configuration, especially in the final quality, AVCHDCoder chooses the opposite route, namely the ease to use. There were only three preset profiles for (x264), and the program will make all the choices, such as whether to convert or add borders to a video blacks: will be done only if necessary (and similarly will be scaled to video resolution, if the program deems necessary).
You can also add subtitles in .srt or .sup (no matter if integrated in the video, or from an external file).
As the program is very good and recommended for those who want to convert some videos on Blu-Ray without being too much to do experiments (the council even considering the package to download, over 100MB, is not particularly light).
